imagick extension not working

I'm running Zend Server 4.0.6 CE with php 5.3.0 on OS X (snow leopard)
The gd and imagick extensions are on. However in my php.ini I have =
ImageMagick Number of supported formats: 0
Not surprisingly the Imagick methods produce an error when attempting to =
use.=20

I've read posts regarding installing ImageMagick but not sure how to go =
about doing this on OS X. Anyone have dealt with this that could offer =
some guidance?

Any help is appreciated.

Didn't realize I was still subscribed to this list, but seeing as I am,
I may as well reply :-) .

I got ImageMagick + imagick installed and working on OS X 10.6 with PHP
5.3.0 using this to install ImageMagick

from the command line, what output do you get?

Install Xcode. You'll find it in the "extras" folder (I think) on the OS X install DVD.

GCC should be in the XCode installation.

Instead of identify, you can use the following command:

# convert -list format

If you installed using that script then the version will be 6.5.6, installed in /usr/local. Your phpinfo() is reporting 6.3.7, so it's using the wrong version.

I've got no idea how your PHP install was set up, but I got it working by compiling a version of imagick against the 6.5.6 installation (creating an imagick.so file), and then dropped that into the /ext folder in my PHP path. I also compiled PHP from source, rather than using the version included with OS X.

Sorry I cant be much more help, unfortunately getting this all working on 10.6 myself was a process of trial and error.
