Hash: RIPEMD160 for those interested, it seems that zend has made a 'definitive' statement re: support for using/installing zend debugger (in Studio or PHP IDE) in your own server install. In short, it won't: "... in order to install Zend Debugger, you'll need to install Zend Platform. ..." cref: http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.tools.php/msg00206.html although i hope this'll be reconsidered (as, personally, i think it's a ridiculous position), or that i've simply misunderstood, i'll be interested in others' successes with DBGp & xDebug in PHPEclipse (where we're currently focusing), and perhaps in PHP IDE, as well. richard - -- /"\ \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign X against HTML email, vCards / \ & micro$oft attachments [GPG] OpenMacNews at gmail dot com fingerprint: 50C9 1C46 2F8F DE42 2EDB D460 95F7 DDBD 3671 08C6 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.4 (Darwin) iEYEAREDAAYFAkShce4ACgkQlffdvTZxCMbe3QCghoCo6aaSripaitDfKC0U5i5S tmoAn32P2aB/Kb2TWaeg1h+hMzWkqmIY =ek46 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

I already switched to Zend Platform and it's great, I must admit but if
the only thing you need is debugger it definitely is too bloated. On windows, it runs 7 (!) services, taking up huge amounts of memory (I even resorted to tweaking it's MySql .conf file to use less memory - yes, it uses it's own mysql instance not minding that you already might have mysql installed). And being first version for Windows it sometimes crashes during debugging. Just to let you know... The thread on the Eclipse list will already cover this topic in detail.
Let's have the argument there and hold to the topic of the Framework here. The other thread hit home and the message was delivered, we won't add much here other than mud to our list. --j On 6/27/06 10:59 AM, "Richard" <[hidden email]> wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: RIPEMD160 > > for those interested, it seems that zend has made a 'definitive' > statement re: support for using/installing zend debugger (in Studio or > PHP IDE) in your own server install. > > In short, it won't: > > "... in order to install Zend Debugger, you'll need to install Zend > Platform. ..." > > cref: http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.tools.php/msg00206.html > > although i hope this'll be reconsidered (as, personally, i think it's a > ridiculous position), or that i've simply misunderstood, i'll be > interested in others' successes with DBGp & xDebug in PHPEclipse (where > we're currently focusing), and perhaps in PHP IDE, as well. > > richard > > - -- > > /"\ > \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign > X against HTML email, vCards > / \ & micro$oft attachments > > [GPG] OpenMacNews at gmail dot com > fingerprint: 50C9 1C46 2F8F DE42 2EDB D460 95F7 DDBD 3671 08C6 > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.4 (Darwin) > > iEYEAREDAAYFAkShce4ACgkQlffdvTZxCMbe3QCghoCo6aaSripaitDfKC0U5i5S > tmoAn32P2aB/Kb2TWaeg1h+hMzWkqmIY > =ek46 > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > |
