Google Web Tookit - Gentoo amd64 notes

Ondrej Ivanič
Hi

If you are using gentoo on amd64 here is a HOWTO:

1. You need 32bit version JRE:

quax ~ # USE="x86 -nsplugin" emerge sun-jre-bin -pv

[ebuild  N f  ] dev-java/sun-jre-bin-1.5.0.06-r2  USE="X alsa
-browserplugin -mozilla -nsplugin" 0 kB

You need to download both version of JRE: for amd64 and for x86 from Sun
( jre-1_5_0_06-linux-amd64.bin, jre-1_5_0_06-linux-i586.bin)

2. You need 32bit version of Mozilla. GTW have bundled version 1.7.12:

quax ~ # emerge =mozilla-bin-1.7.12 -pv

[ebuild  N     ] www-client/mozilla-bin-1.7.12  0 kB

3. Google Web Toolkit, download it and extract.

I was extracted GWT into ~/tmp/. If you like play with examples you need
  specify LD_LIBRARY_PATH to mozilla libs:

$ cd ~/tmp/gwt-linux-1.0.20/samples/KitchenSink
$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/mozilla
$ ./KitchenSink-shell

Happy hacking :)
