Captcha needs to be completed multiple times

I am using Zend_Form_Element_Captcha with ReCaptcha and I have found that I need to complete the Captcha multiple times. When a form is first submitted with the Captcha correct, but another field invalid, the Captcha needs to be re-entered.

Is there anyway to have the Captcha form element remember that the Captcha was valid the first time the form was submitted when a form is shown multiple times due to another field being invalid?
