Hi everyone,

As some of you might know, I'm currently working on the Zend\I18n
component. I was looking through the list of supported formats in ZF1's
Zend_Translate component, and saw a few which were already pretty
outdated standards. I identified the standards which are pretty current
(and also support plural translations):

* PHP arrays
* Gettext
* XLIFF
* CSV

Now I was wondering if any of you were using any of the other formats,
as I'd personally prefer to drop obsolete ones to cut down the
maintenance.

From what I know TMX is kind of a standard format for translators - meaning many Computer Aided Translation tools can read/write it. But XLIFF seems to be gaining momentum. Maybe check  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer-assisted_translation#Some_notable_CAT_tools to see what else is used (except Word and Excel documents :D)

Please attempt not to top-post :)

But yes; please support TMX; it allows for some nice extensions to the
format; we actually have a bit of those going on in our environment to
be able to maintain when translations were last updated and if there
is a need for updates to existing translations.
